Philips R-S240-TPC-MARKIII in action
With 9 of these, I already have a nice stockpile. The two I tested are silent, and work fine, but they are ALTO-allergic too XD.

Also, note the MARK III designation! I thought it was exclusive to Advance ballasts, but since Advance is a division of Philips, it makes sense to see the MARK III name on Canadian Philips ballasts.

Kinda ironic to see the CSA Energy Performance logo on the label, as those ballasts are considered "inneficient".

Nice stash Vince, looks like you have a newer Philips ballast, if you look on your older Philips ballast you'll see that it says it has Advan-Guard protection which was a name used on the older Advance ballasts too.

Yup, nice observation Smile My older Philips is from '84, so I assume they stopped using the Advan-Guard thermal protection sometime between '94 and '95.

Thanks, I have a Philips ballast from I think '95 since the date code was a bit confusing that still has the Advan-Guard logo on the label. By the way Phillips also made HID ballasts too.
