Looks kinda like a European Lamp with that Tubular Envelope....do American GE lamps come in that shape or is it only the Canadian GE's that have that shape?
Are you sure this was made in the USA as Tubular Lucalox Lamps have been made In Hungary, also the biggest Clue being a European Lamp, is the Cap, being a E40 or GES (Goliath Edison Screw), I have loads of them for my HPS Flood and Street Lights all differnt Dates but all being Made in Hungary.
Ive Looked at my lamps and the Labels they all say the same GE Lighting - affiliated with General Electric Co USA, but on the lamps them selves they all have GE LUCALOX LU250/T/40 HUNGARY ( Dates )
The E in the Triangle means External Ignitor Lamp as all European HPS Lamps are made with either External Ignitors (E) for use on electronic starters and Internal Ignitors this is defined by the letter I in a Triangle for use on simple Choke type ballasts where NO Electrinic Ignitors are fitted.
If Darren lets us know what on the Lamp Etc it would Help
Hi Colin and Jace, unfortunately the etch on the lamp is barely legible, all I can see is part of Lucalox and LU250 and cannot see where it was made,it appears I cannot go by the info on the sleeve. Colin your probably right that it is made in Hungary,I did a little research and the order code 22453 is not a GE USA order code.GE USA makes some export lamps with E40 caps, but the order code for the LU250 is different (44048).Also the USA made export lamp is ED18 shape and not tubular.
I knew it was Hungarian as the Order Code is Listed in the UK GE Catalogue and Buyers Guides I have also the Specs on the wrapper are exactly the same as the Lamps I have,
In the UK Catalogue I have 22453 as the LU250/T/40 this has a T48 Bulb (48mm) and in the USA Catalogue I have 44048 as LU250/40 this lamp has a ED18 Bulb (18-eights inch) also in the UK we have the 44052, this lamp is a Coated Lamp with E90 (or ED28) Bulb, ref No LU250/D/40
