Oh boy...tsk tsk....this light NEVER had a CHANCE
This light was pretty recently installed...and wasn't even not yet turned on! They haven't powered those...so a fixture installed...and never installed...and now probably being scrapped.....

They will reuse the same pole with a brand new base...and probably a new fixture......stay tuned to find out what the new fixture is, usually different from new installations....This one was an OVH...

Thats not good, atleast it was just an OVH Razz

Yeah that's a pretty painful sigh to see but at least nothing vintage was on the pole.

They fixed this, the new fixture is an OVH also...heh, and they haven't been activated yet, I suspect because they are ongoing to new installation on two highmasts between the overpass ......the other intersection up head north has also gotten new streetlights cobraheads (I wonder of those two intersections will have the old highmasts removed or what?

Since you said some thing else would probably be put up it was most likely the contractor working on installing the lights fixed it Wink

depends...I have seen other areas have OVHs......but so far its only this style poles that have it plus some traffic light truss arm setups have OVH...but the straighter arms have OVX and GE M-250R2 FCOs....also new davit arms have GE M-250R2 FCOs.....

I haven't seen the straighter arms (which is also shown in the davit arm picture) have a OVH yet...only the MD state truss arms and the curved arm poles...but I have seen the curved arm poles have GE M-250R2, OVX though.....

I am guessing different contractors help the state of MD.....I have also seen OVFs used as 400 watt.....there's a group of those same arms (above) but with TALLER poles and poles farther apart with each other and having OVFs at the beltway on Southeastern portion of MD-495.

I have had to deal with pretty much the same thing, picking up knock downs.
