The Fixture Setup looks Ugly to me.

mercuryvaporrocks   [Jun 06, 2010 at 03:47 PM]
I've seen these at gas stations but only the poles didn't look weird like this. Laughing
Form109   [Jun 06, 2010 at 04:01 PM]
The ones i see at Gas Stations are Huge 1000 Watt Mercury Vapor ones.
GullWhiz   [Jun 07, 2010 at 02:18 AM]
They aren't only in gas stations, they used to be popular in parking lot, they used to be popular 70s style! I remember seeing more of those in the 80s

A bit of news, further along this street there are many more of these however they do not have these huge bases, anyways theres one thats been knocked down and appers to of been laying there for a while so I'm thinking of going back there to see if I can "save" it, assuming theres no one around Wink
lite_lover   [Oct 09, 2010 at 06:51 PM]
That will be cool to save it,hopefully there isn't too much damage.
gailgrove   [Oct 09, 2010 at 07:20 PM]
It didn't look like there was very much/any, the only thing I'm concerned about is the pole and fixture MIGHT still be energized so I'll use my non-contact voltage tester first Wink
lite_lover   [Oct 09, 2010 at 08:49 PM]
Yeah good plan. Wink
GullWhiz   [Oct 09, 2010 at 10:59 PM]
Looking very carefully at the fixture, it looks similar to the GE Town and County fixtures for posttops
gailgrove   [Oct 09, 2010 at 11:03 PM]
I believe these are AEL Georgian's they use to be made by Powerlite Wink

Not sure if I noticed these the last time I was in that area but they have also been using this style of poles and fixtures in York Region too.

There's also another version of these with a bucket light optical assembly inside the lantern part of the light.
