Oh Look, It's Me Again!
Well I decided I would upload a slightly better and newer picture of myself! So here it is, with me posing beside my traffic signal. And yes it is very tall! I'm 5' 8'' and it is about a foot and a half taller than me!

wow! Shocked I'm 5', 5". My traffic light doesn't have a stand though and it doesn't have a backboard. The green paint is chipping right of the metal, leaving me to decide wether or not I should repaint it. I don't know if i want to keep the forest green color, or go black, or go yellow on the signal. I'll probably leave it alone until next summer whn I have time to work on it.....

Thanks, the back plate is what makes it a lot bigger, it doesn't weight much though, maybe 20 pounds at most!

My traffic light is all 12 inches, and it's probably a bit bigger than this, but that back plate make is look huge!

My traffic light is pretty big it takes some room in the house. So does my Florescent troffer!
gailgrove   [Oct 20, 2011 at 11:14 PM]
Yeah it would be taller but not as wide.

My 12-8-8 is missing the backplate so it looks a lot smaller and is also the lightest signal because it's a poly one. My aluminium CGE ped is a heavier and the heaviest signal I have is my CGE aluminium 8-8-8 which also has glass lenses instead of plastic.

My 12-12-12 peek signal is all cast. It's not heavy at all, but it's pretty large making it a little trickey to carry. I usually hold above my head on the ends on the green and red sections like the hulk when i carry it a long way. Laughing

The older cast signals were heavier too and plus some had glass lenses and reflectors! Shocked
streetlight98   [Oct 22, 2011 at 12:20 PM]
Yeah. I don't know how old my signal is. It was taken off the streets when the small town Foster, RI wanted to remove their signals as they weren't needed today. The plastic reflector holder in the red section is broken. Crying or Very sad I'm using duct tape to hold it together. I got it wired up to a clear ungrounded table lamp cord with all the lights wired together. I rewired it with a grounded extension cord and a serquencer. I got my traffic light in May 2008 for my 10th birthday. It was my first light in my collection. My OV25 was the second, and the yardblaster was third.

I know my signal is from 2008!
streetlight98   [Oct 22, 2011 at 05:21 PM]
My signal is from before 2001. i'm not good with dating signals........
joe_347V   [Oct 22, 2011 at 06:54 PM]
My Econolite poly 12-8-8 is from November 1995, I think my CGE 12" ped is from the 70s since it doesn't have the later rectangular CGE logo on it, and I think my GE 8-8-8 is from at least the 60s since it still uses glass GE brick lenses.
streetlight98   [Oct 22, 2011 at 08:05 PM]
I honestly have no clue. My signal may actully be older than the 90's. I'll have to ask Nick if he can figure out how old it is...

Hey Niall, are you still planning to get a sequencer for it?
streetlight98   [Oct 23, 2011 at 12:12 AM]
He hasn't said that he got one yet, so it think he's still needing to get one
joe_347V   [Oct 23, 2011 at 01:19 AM]
Well unless he managed to score a controller cabinet. Laughing
streetlight98   [Oct 23, 2011 at 02:11 AM]
Then he would need more signals. Razz Laughing
joe_347V   [Oct 23, 2011 at 03:20 AM]
Yeah like 8 heads to meet standards. Laughing

I actually ordered a sequencer before I even made this stand, but it hasn't arrived yet. The company I ordered it from finally got it delivered back to them last week and has now reshipped it so hopefully I should get it soon!

You are taller than me Smile

My traffic light (well I had/have 2 but I disassembled my newer one), but my older one from 1985 is a Crouse Hinds
