i've done that too with incandescent lamps, not with acid though. I used good ol' spray paint. Came out really good, but lost it. I'm all out of white spray paint too.
That glow bottle glows PINK when starting up! It's a very used Philips HPS retrofit lamp from 1994.....it has many hours and still good! The others where it came from, some are still woring great, others already glowing white, others have blackening on the outer glass, some already stopped working, some already got relamped from dead retrofit to going back to 250 watt merc, some are now relamped with MH LOL!!
Nice set ups Jace the Gull. I knew the bulb on the left was a Philips Retrolux 215w lamp by looking at it. The frosted bulb is a GE eh? I know they make diffuse HPS lamps in E28 and E37 envelopes.
That's interesting .. I knew that Sylvania used to market inside-frosted tubular lamps in Europe during the 1980s, but I was not aware that GE proposed such a product nowadays...
They didn't Geoff made up that idea, I kinda played along......
I have gotten those lamps "frosted" yes permanet type of this texture.........how??? Secret.....it's not exactly a home made thing to do....although it's homemade but 99 percent of us do not have the equipments to do this......LOL
Except the ebay ones are inside etched while this one is outside. Are they gonna stay or are they a trial?
