GE 175 watt MH lamp! Horrible lamps....those don't last long... But I will admit those lamp shape are cool! Those are now used in my area, and is horrible LOL...even though it is made in the USA!!! I agree with you, Jace. That is really weird shape lamp Razz Looks like ED shaped bulb with A-type neck shape envelope Confused

That is weird! Btw yep I agree about the quality of current GE MH lamps, the one in the wallpack by my mom's condo lasted only a year! In yours the arctube support looks terribly assembled.

My guess for poor quality...is to disencourage people using probe start MHs and use Pulse start MH....

From what I am told for the GE lamp lines.....the Probe start MH is the worst.....the GE MV today is so so.....Philips were a lot better for MV.....and GE HPS lamps are good!

Yes these lamps are pieces of %#^@! I cant even start to tell you how many I have been back to change within a year already since we started using them. I find more of these burnt out more often than I find burnt out Philips lamps! It's really sad the lack of quality that you get with items these days! nobody takes pride in workmanship anymore. It's all about how can we save a penny here and there.

It's no wonder utility companies avoid these, I've seen alot of modern metal halide lamps fail prematurely.

Recently, I have noticed some of these bulbs are used out in the sidewalk fixtures at Southern Polytechnic State University where I currently attending. I'll let you guys know how long it last Razz

Those bulbs are used in my area.....I have noticed those are a bit greener and a little dimmer than most common 175 watt MH....so a bit of a clear MV "look" but the problems with those are early failures so far from what I have heard and seen....only few months....

Why did they make the lamp shape like this? And I can see why these lamps suck. I bet lots of them are out in the parking lot where that OVX was at,
