Unbranded 400w Green MH
Here's a 400w green MH lamp going by what the sleeve says, the lamp itself has no indications that's it's green though. The right pic shows it running on a 250w MH ballast in my R47 which is big enough for a 400w lamp if you move the socket all the way in.

How green? You should try 400 watt ballast because regular MH often glow green when underdriven....
joe_347V   [Nov 03, 2010 at 02:42 AM]
Sort of like a clear MV but I don't have a 400w ballast for it so maybe it's just the lamp being underdriven.

I was very surprised to see that a ED37 lamp can fit in my OV10. Shocked When i get the reflector back I'll get some pictures.

And a BT56 lamp can fit in a B2255 if you modify the socket mount. Shocked

My 1500 watt MH fits in my OV-20 just fine lol
streetlight98   [Apr 02, 2012 at 10:33 PM]
The OV-20 is a bit larger than i had imagined then... Shocked
TiCoune66   [Apr 02, 2012 at 11:29 PM]
Mhh... that's something I didn't try with my OV-20!

Have you tried this on your new 400w ballast yet?
joe_347V   [Jan 15, 2013 at 04:17 AM]
Surprisingly this thing is pretty green, it's like how clear mercs show up on camera.
GEsoftwhite100watts   [Jan 15, 2013 at 03:11 PM]
Sounds interesting...but greener than a greened-out clear MV?
streetlight98   [Jan 15, 2013 at 07:36 PM]
Is it still as green is it was in this pic?
joe_347V   [Jan 16, 2013 at 02:14 PM]
It sorta looks like a lime green colour instead of the bluish green colour a clear merc has.
streetlight98   [Jan 16, 2013 at 08:56 PM]
Hmm that sounds like it's probably a green MH lamp then, though I've never seen colored MH lamps in person before. I thought the glass was simply colored... Neutral
A_lights   [Jan 16, 2013 at 09:47 PM]
they have a different fill gas in the arctube, same goes with different kelvins
streetlight98   [Jan 16, 2013 at 10:10 PM]
Hmm metal halide seems quite flexible in terms of light color. If only there was a way to make HPS a little whiter without hurting lamp life, light output, or price... I know GE made some sort of lamp like that but i heard they weren't cheap...
A_lights   [Jan 16, 2013 at 10:37 PM]
yeah i think the name is Phllips cosmopils in Europe at least from what ive read/seen on LG
joe_347V   [Jan 17, 2013 at 02:30 AM]
Yeah I think they also change the composition of the halides in the lamp too.

As for the white HPS lamps I think Eye also makes or used to make them. I heard they're pretty expensive though.
streetlight98   [Jan 17, 2013 at 02:45 AM]
even regular eye lamps are expensive, though they come up with some cool uncommon lamp styles.
GEsoftwhite100watts   [Jan 17, 2013 at 11:43 PM]
And still make good quality lamps, in BT shape to boot! Very Happy
streetlight98   [Jan 17, 2013 at 11:58 PM]
Yep. Eye makes the best quality lamps but with high quality comes a high price. Sylvania makes good quality lamps at a more economical price, though when it comes to LED and CMH i think Philips comes out on top. GE is decent quality too but you get as much for your money as you would withg Sylvania IMO. The only thing is that Sylvania Eco HPS lamps don't always work on Cooper fixtures becuase of the ignitor. That's what it says on the sleeve of my 400W Sylvania Eco HPS lamp. Neutral
