Cobra Striking
Here's a shot that I mentioned yesterday about a AE 125 with it's door being taped to the mounting arm and with two wires flying out of the lume, the light looks a lot like a cobra before gulping down on its meal hence the title lol.

TACKY!!! Laughing So, they're being powered by the external wires now? Must have been a failure in the pole or underground.

Hmmm interesting...haha Devonte smackem with a white glove, better yet strangle them with that wire hangin' there. Laughing

apparently temporary fix.....I know sometimes they do that in big cities or dangerous areas....but often I see wires go through the slipfitter opening not LIKE THAT!! taping a door..open....but look in the bright side...they kept the door with the fixture instead of completely removing it! Razz

That looks so tacky Rolling Eyes around here I have seen them drill holes in the sides of fixtures to put in temporary wires Shocked luckily I have only seen it done to OVXs.

Update: they closed up the cobraheads, but this setup is now out and the overhead wires are still there. Rolling Eyes

Yep, this one of the tackier wiring jobs I've seen done on streetlights here, normally here, they run the temp wires through the slipfitter opening like how Jace said. I guess they wanted the light fixed quickly since the intersection is somewhat busy even at night.

@Niall that's sound pretty sloppy too Shocked , can you maybe get a pic of it?
tpirman1982   [Dec 29, 2011 at 09:28 PM]
That's worse than Boston's lousy wiring.
streetlight98   [Oct 01, 2012 at 01:44 AM]
Hey joe have you ever gotten a shot of this set-up now?
joe_347V   [Oct 01, 2012 at 02:26 AM]
I don't think I have :/ but I'll get one for the next time I'm in the area.

rlshieldjr   [Dec 24, 2012 at 03:36 AM]
I've seen cobras taped closed.
streetlight98   [Dec 24, 2012 at 02:39 PM]
I have too but never taped OPEN! Shocked Laughing I've never seen a light with a glass lens taped up either; just the plastic lens lights get taped, probably becuase they don't want the weight of the refractor making the tape fail.
joe_347V   [Dec 24, 2012 at 04:38 PM]
I've seen both. Laughing Razz

This setup is no more, it got knocked down back in June. Laughing
