[Gone] GE M-250A
Here's what appears to be a GE M250A light that was installed sometime between 2007-2008. I'm not sure if this is a refurb or is a new fixture.

EDIT This is a GE M-250A thanks to Darren for confirming the model.

They actually have some of these M-250a's around 25. They are FCO though. I was surprised to see them! I think those FCO's are utilized by the state. I need to get some pics of them!

If they are angled...then they may be custom...I know there are actually a VERY RARE version of GE M-250A FCOs....

@ Ian, Interesting, I wonder how does a FCO M-250A looks like, are they just like the drop lensed one but with flat glass or with a round lens like the FCO M-400A2

Is that... a BAIL LATCH on the M-250A??? Shocked
LilCinnamon   [Dec 30, 2011 at 01:59 AM]
You did see a pic of those FCO M-250 A2's, as I realized, they were induction. So they weren't exactly GE.

BTW, I think this is the rare M-250A FCO Jace was talking about here
LilCinnamon   [Dec 30, 2011 at 02:26 AM]
That looks different than I would of thought. o.o Instead of it being round it's the normal shape of a small.
streetlight98   [Dec 30, 2011 at 02:29 AM]
The lens is also recessed to make it level. It also gives it a slight house side shield. Smile

The light in this picture (up there) Kind of looks like the FCO version with the Drop Lens attached. Hard to tell.. But it looks like it.

The other M-250A in my area looks more "standard". Razz

And yeah it kinda does look like the FCO version Mike linked to but with a drop lens.
GullWhiz   [Aug 01, 2012 at 06:56 PM]
Does it have a GE logo on it?
streetlight98   [Dec 13, 2012 at 10:57 PM]
@ Jace; you can see the GE logo on the door in the pic. This must've been a contractor refurb?
joe_347V   [Dec 14, 2012 at 05:38 AM]
I guess it was and yeah it has a GE logo underneath it. I've been meaning to get a closeup of this for a while now too.
GullWhiz   [Dec 14, 2012 at 11:32 PM]
then get it already...hehehehe
joe_347V   [Dec 14, 2012 at 11:41 PM]
Hehehe Joe is too lazy to walk five minutes and get the picture. Razz

Not a Formed Plastics but a Lexalite refractor. Also, this could be an ARK lighting luminaire.
streetlight98   [Dec 15, 2012 at 01:36 PM]
This one has a GE logo on the door. i think the light above is a restored version of this style fixture but with a drop lens inserted.
Silverliner14B   [Dec 16, 2012 at 12:02 AM]
Florida Power ane Light (FPL) the largest utility in Florida, has lots of these M-250As with the FCO front door but fitted with GE glass refractors, weird!
joe_347V   [Dec 16, 2012 at 12:17 AM]
Does anyone know why GE made two versions of the M-250A?
streetlight98   [Dec 16, 2012 at 02:21 AM]
I'm guessing the reason why is because when the M-250A was designed in the 60s FCO wasn't a concept. When it became a concept in the 70s, the refractor was tilted, thus putting no point into using FCO in the first place (which is why I'm against the OVZ and OVX being sold in FCO) so they redesigned the door so it's level when th light is mounted. Just a guess though. I'm not really sure.
