Nice! and it runs of a run-of-the-mill single lamp F32T8 ballast that you can get for 15 bucks at the hardware store. Very Happy I don't have any LPS. Even though the color is poor they're really cool since they're monochromatic. I heard it has the effect of seeing black and white (except with a gold hue everywhere lol)

Nice light! I also used to run LPS lamps off electronic ballasts before I got the Goldeye. Yeah being in a LPS lit room for while makes everything seem weird after you got back to normal lighting. Razz

Thanks guys! Yes it's running on a two-lamp F32T8 electronic ballast, interestingly the neon would be striated at first until it warmed up using an Advance ballast. After experimenting with a few ballasts,I found using a F32T8 electronic ballast by Standard runs as close as I can get it to a core and coil ballast. It is also still running great (approx 8 months now) as I type this. Yeah everything looks orange/brown. Razz

Ah so the ballast is wired up to run two F32T8 lamps or a 2-lamp ballast wired for one lamp?
lite_lover   [Jul 10, 2014 at 01:39 AM]
A two-lamp ballast wired up for one lamp.
streetlight98   [Jul 10, 2014 at 01:55 AM]
Ahh so a single lamp ballast would work too? I wonder if a programmed start 32W CFL ballast would work? CFL ballasts have 1.0 ballast factor.
lite_lover   [Jul 10, 2014 at 03:13 AM]
It won't run up on a single lamp ballast, needs the two lamp ballast. Not sure if a 32W CFL ballast would work.
streetlight98   [Jul 10, 2014 at 03:17 AM]
Hmm that's odd. If the two lamp ballast is wired up for one lamp (with one of the blues capped) isn't that the same as using a single lamp ballast? Or are both blues used for 2X overdrive?
lite_lover   [Jul 10, 2014 at 03:26 AM]
Yes both blues connected together.
streetlight98   [Jul 10, 2014 at 03:31 AM]
Oh well that makes sense then lol. What's the ballast factor of the ballast you used? high, 1.0, normal, or low?
lite_lover   [Jul 10, 2014 at 05:12 AM]
It's a normal power factor ballast.

Update: The lamp developed a leak Crying or Very sad It did 9 months, not sure if the leak was the result of running it on the electronic ballast or if it was a poorer quality lamp and would have failed anyway, the lamp looked fine the day before but now it's pretty black lol.
streetlight98   [Aug 22, 2014 at 02:11 PM]
Aw man. Sad What brand was the lamp? i thought Philips was the only one who still made them?I guess you can try it again and see what happens? Neutral
GEsoftwhite100watts   [Aug 30, 2014 at 06:49 PM]
Did it light somewhat with the leak? Hope it was just a defective lamp.
lite_lover   [Aug 30, 2014 at 07:47 PM]
Yes it still lit up dimly and the metal parts were glowing like a little neon lamp lol. Hopefully it was just a defective lamp, I will have to get another one and try again.

It is just the lamp, I only use OSRAM lamps they work very nice. this is a 35 so 2 lamp 32w T8 ballast is very good.
lite_lover   [Aug 30, 2014 at 08:38 PM]
Ah thanks good to know,I will try to find OSRAM lamps.
traffic light1   [Aug 30, 2014 at 11:45 PM]
I get them off eBay, they have some 35w right now. I have worked with LPS for years now and have found all the right LPS and T8 ballast combinations.
lite_lover   [Aug 31, 2014 at 02:34 AM]
Ah great, thanks I will check them out on ebay.
