I think It is actually. I think these look great.
GullWhiz   [Sep 09, 2011 at 02:32 AM]
Yeah...it's been refreshed in a way
streetlight98   [Sep 09, 2011 at 02:34 AM]
These poles are along Rte. 2 here holding M-250R2s now. They used to have 400w MV M-400s a long time ago. The last one got replaced a year a go by a new M-400, 400w HPS
Form109   [Sep 09, 2011 at 02:36 AM]
Better they get refreshed than trashed...the black is a nice look for these.
joe_347V   [Sep 09, 2011 at 02:57 AM]
Yeah, most places here will install new poles and shoebox lights instead of repainting the poles and lumes.
gailgrove   [Sep 09, 2011 at 07:29 PM]
I think these look great too! And if they want to keep up with the latest technology they could make them CMH!
streetlight98   [Sep 09, 2011 at 08:19 PM]
They actually did a dood job painting too. No streaks or missed spots and no paint on the refactors.
Form109   [Sep 09, 2011 at 09:20 PM]
@niall i haven't seen these at night...i suspect they are still Mercury Vapor, but yes CMH sounds like a FANTASTIC idea!

and yup good paint job...i noticed that too, they really took their time.

How many poles are in this lot?
Form109   [Sep 09, 2011 at 10:22 PM]
This is the only pole...it's a fairly small lot.
streetlight98   [Sep 09, 2011 at 10:24 PM]
Could you post a pic of the whole pole?
Form109   [Sep 09, 2011 at 10:26 PM]
i don't have a picture of the whole pole....i'll get a shot later if i go back to that part of town. Wink
streetlight98   [Sep 09, 2011 at 10:29 PM]
ok. Thanks. Smile

Some fixtures look good painted black. Even the Chicago Crimefighters look a lot better that way.
Form109   [Sep 10, 2011 at 07:50 PM]
me personally i like a Bare Form 400,but this doesn't look bad at all.
Silverliner14B   [Sep 18, 2011 at 01:41 AM]
Nice Form 400s! Yep they look well maintained. However the CMHs wont work on mercury ballasts you will need to put in metal halide ballasts to get enough OCV.
gailgrove   [Sep 18, 2011 at 03:11 AM]
I know that Dave, I meant they could install PSMH ballasts and CMH lamps.
joe_347V   [Sep 18, 2011 at 03:37 AM]
They could also install probe start MH ballasts and run those retrofit CMH lamps which avoids having to deal with remote ignitors.
Form109   [Sep 18, 2011 at 06:20 AM]
do retrofit CMH Lamps last as long as Regular CMH Lamps?...the reason i ask is i know Retrofit HPS lamps have much shorter lifespans than standard HPS Lamps.
streetlight98   [Sep 18, 2011 at 02:22 PM]
I think in any retrofit situation, the retrofit lamp won't last as long. The longest life is achieved by the regular ballast and gear.
