Never seen a Cooper TS LED.
basilicon89   [Dec 27, 2012 at 10:25 PM]
It is Cooper...one of the lowest grade LED fixtures available.

YES!

Well, I'm not surprised...Cooper isn't well known for making quality streetlights on here. Laughing

I love my OVX, Razz

Yeah I’ve noticed the older exposed LED modules tend to all die like this. The GE’s here aren’t any better. The GE ones (or so I THINK they’re GE…) aren’t incandescent look-alike, but they’re not just bare LEDs either. The LEDs don’t fill the whole module either, leaving the outside edge of the module dark when it’s lit in the signal. I like the current modules used here. I think they’re Dialights…

The GE RX-11's were known to go out in strips. The way they were designed, the LEDs would eventually overheat and burn out. I would imagine Coopers and other early brands were the same.

Dialight has updated their module, the one just before their newest edition had definite hot-spot issues with the edge being not as bright. It had a screen like pattern to the lens. The newest version has the same lens but the LEDs are definitely brighter. They've come along way.

Hey nick, i know this is a kinda bad shot, but here's a shot of the LEDs I mentioned. There's a dark dot in the middle of the modules and the outer rim appears unlit. It's most noticable with the reds.

I actually liked the older 2003ish Dialights over the ones that were made around 2010. Those newer ones tend to have a narrow viewing angle. Confused
streetlight98   [Dec 28, 2012 at 02:23 AM]
I agree I hate the narrow view angle of the modules here (now I'm pretty sure they're dialights). If the signal is swaying in the wind the light beam comes in and out of focus which can be an issue. And those greens are blindingly bright at night! Shocked

I relamped the ICC with Dialites
basilicon89   [Dec 28, 2012 at 05:03 AM]
Your picture looks like the model before the current Dialight design. The same lens was used for the current and the previous (2010-ish) model. 2003 (roughly) used a diamond pattern. The 2012 version eliminates the hotspot and are one of my favorite LEDs out there.

We have mostly incadecent look alike leds they sometimes fail when it gets cold for some reason. ..they're bright though!
Not many incadecent signals left...even some left turn MVs have been covered with a reflective one
streetlight98   [Dec 28, 2012 at 01:15 PM]
@ Nick; the lenses are different though. They're flat and translucent. The red balls are tinted while the yellow and green balls are untinted (though they're still translucent so the LEDs aren't visable).

^ Sounds like GE's or Leotek
traffic light1   [Dec 29, 2012 at 09:37 PM]
Pawtucket uses Leotek.
