Interstate 20 Lighting Setup (Cooper OV-25 FCO's)
Quite a Common Fixture along Interstate 20.....and it doesn't look bad at all.

This is Between Dallas and Shreveport (To Ian) :-P

Of Course Ian.....you Passed by it Again...be fun to see if anything was here many many years ago...like when I-20 was First built into this Area in the 70's Wink

Yeah these Cooper OV-25's are expensive,I was originally going to order one from the wholesaler as there never seemed to be any take-downs,but luckily one came in to the lighting contractor.
Form109   [Jul 17, 2010 at 02:58 AM]
How is the Quality of yours....do they Feel Solid and Strong?
GullWhiz   [Jul 17, 2010 at 03:10 AM]
Those looks kinda like AEs! But I know they are OV-25s...but they flatter front makes them look more like AEs!
Form109   [Jul 17, 2010 at 04:45 AM]
Don't the Original OV-25's have a much more Pointy End?
GullWhiz   [Jul 17, 2010 at 05:14 AM]
correct...

More Recently the M400R2 is the Choice Fixture for texas interstates,i Wonder Which one lasts longer since Cooper Apparently makes Rotten Ballasts (Rotten = Crappy)
lite_lover   [Jul 23, 2010 at 06:25 AM]
@ Devonte: The quality is pretty good, mine has retained similar design features of the 80's Crouse-Hinds models.

the TXDOT Place for my Region (East Texas) is right here in Tyler and they actually have a Few Cooper OV-25 FCO's Laying on the ground among other New FCO's
gailgrove   [Jul 30, 2010 at 11:47 PM]
you should try to get one Very Happy
Form109   [Sep 22, 2010 at 04:44 AM]
i'll have to stop by there one day and see if that can happen.....not expecting that but just maybe..
gailgrove   [Sep 22, 2010 at 07:08 PM]
Hey it never hurts to ask, I would of scored some GE Form 400 Power-Packs if they hadn't been taken to the scrap yard an hour before Mad
GullWhiz   [Sep 22, 2010 at 10:39 PM]
Yes you will have to be quick or be lucky to be on time...I ALMOST did not get the first GE M-250R....I was lucky to catch some workers who was just taking the old fixture into the truck! It was left on next to the pole...so I made it ON time!

I was tempted to ask the linemen in my town for some McGraw Edison Unistyle 175's that they were replacing due to the borough's request to have their lighting upgraded but usually 9 times out of 10 they'll say no and plus they were really busy anyway and I didn't want to bother them.
streetlight98   [Feb 15, 2011 at 10:59 PM]
The linemen here are really nice, probably because I'm still a kid. When they were turning on the lights in my neighboorhood, a lineman gave me the open cap and a new Fisher Peirce Sun Tech PC.

I hate it when they leave those ugly leveling devices on the doors. Rolling Eyes
gailgrove   [Feb 16, 2011 at 07:14 PM]
The levels are meant to be left on, I'm not even sure if they can come off still if I was in charge I would never even order a level Rolling Eyes
joe_347V   [Feb 16, 2011 at 08:07 PM]
I like the top mounted leveling pads more, since they're harder to see from the ground
streetlight98   [Feb 16, 2011 at 09:32 PM]
If you are not careless, than you won't even need a level pad anyway.

those fixtures sitting on the grounds of our Area TXDOT Office are now gone...they could have gotten installed or whatever...who knows....now there sits a bunch of glass lenses.
