That looks silly.

a Little Re-adjustment of the Guy Wires Should be a Quick Solution...they appear to have Slid down the Arm....probably not Clamped tight enough.

Its funny how the arms are slanted towards the lighter 113 leaving the heavier OVM up way higher Laughing
Form109   [Jul 12, 2010 at 10:24 PM]
i Didn't notice that til you mentioned it...that is Funny! Laughing
gailgrove   [Jul 12, 2010 at 10:28 PM]
Very Happy
Form109   [Sep 12, 2010 at 01:27 AM]
according to a Person i know in the Dallas Metro, the arms are supposedly slanted like that because the poles originally Held one arm....seems plausible..but confusing.
streetlight98   [Jan 31, 2011 at 11:02 PM]
That would explain the 115's there and the different style arms....

I don't think they are crooked...I think everyone's head is on crooked! Laughing Oh, and my older sister lives in Dallas Razz
streetlight98   [Aug 07, 2011 at 04:14 PM]
well, the arms aren't crooked, the arms are of two different demensions, so it looks off.

I see those have different arms for sure....one has a MORE of a curve...while other ones are more angled...

It's actually not confusing to have 1 arm before....look at the median have curves for turns and stuff....It was actually like that in NYC! That's why some of the double quarter loop arms are a bit looking crooked because the original arms some of them had only ONE arm...and when they replaced the arms, keeping the same poles, some of them that had one arm did not have a mounting part, so they used a clamp below the other one!

I don't have a pic, so I have a Google map instead see here This is one example...This one used to have an old style braced upsweep....but at the time they were converting from incandescent to mercury...they used the quarter loop arms so they could be higher....for 2 reasons...brighter mercs...and most of the lower wattage was open bottoms so they acted as a FCO fixtures!!!!

And I've seen double armed poles with the second arm removed too. Razz
GullWhiz   [Sep 07, 2011 at 05:28 PM]
Well in my area they install double poles for single poles and cover up the other side.....
joe_347V   [Sep 07, 2011 at 10:43 PM]
I think my area does that too but I've also seen double armed poles that later had the second arm removed.

Although they removed the second arm in that case because they installed highmast lighting on the freeway.

i see what jace is talking about...the turning lanes?...or turning holes as i like to call it in the median.
GullWhiz   [Sep 08, 2011 at 01:44 PM]
@Joe.....Are you sure the 2nd arm in the highway was removed? Or do you think you distracted a gull making a gull bump on to the 2nd arm knocking the 2nd arm out???
joe_347V   [Sep 08, 2011 at 04:09 PM]
Gulls can knock off truss arms? Shocked

So that's how they obtain streetlights... Laughing
