Interesting Very Happy , wonder why AEL doesn't use this on some of their other lumes.

Actually I think the 115 has the option Smile

If they'd never seen one, then the read the instruction manual. It has a purpose. And jace, I thingk all of the componets are mounted on the door so the whole fixture doesn't need replacement.

What instruction manual? the one that magically appears 40 feet in the air in the middle of winter while trying to remove a piece of fibreglass Laughing The DuraStar 20 has all of the electrical components mounted to the door (ballast capacitor and igniter, but the DuraStar 30 only has the capacitor and the igniter (the ballast is mounted on the top housing)

So, you have never heard of reading an instruction manual when you're installing a light eh? It comes in handy Wink Razz And I wouldn't mind a cheeseystar being wacked with a giant hammer. Laughing You could probably take it off by slamming you fist on top. CRACK! Laughing
gailgrove   [May 22, 2011 at 09:50 PM]
Nah, I tend to throw them away Laughing
streetlight98   [May 22, 2011 at 10:03 PM]
Oh. Laughing Once you've installed a light once, you don't usually tend to have to read the instructions I guess. I keep all of the literature that comes with my lights for future refrence. The listing for my M-400 on e-bay showed instructions on the listing, but I never got any with my light. Confused Never really was mad or anything, it just would have been nice if I had them.

I keep most of mine too, even though I usually don't need it.
I even printed out a set for my R47 Shocked
gailgrove   [May 22, 2011 at 10:40 PM]
Are those the instructions that came with my R47?
joe_347V   [May 22, 2011 at 11:26 PM]
Yep Very Happy but I cleaned up the files before I printed them out.

Awww this Durastar just had a boo-boo, Darren did you kiss it to feel better Razz
joe_347V   [Aug 16, 2011 at 03:24 AM]
I think they call the Durastar adapter a DuraLock! Shocked
streetlight98   [Aug 16, 2011 at 03:23 PM]
Something along the lines of the DuraLock Docking System
joe_347V   [Aug 16, 2011 at 03:25 PM]
Who'd really want to call it that? aside from the person who writes the catalogue and the ads. Laughing
GullWhiz   [Aug 16, 2011 at 03:31 PM]
It should be called Dura-Unsure Locking System! Laughing
streetlight98   [Aug 16, 2011 at 03:33 PM]
yeah Laughing Or call it a Dura-fitter.
joe_347V   [Aug 16, 2011 at 03:35 PM]
Let's just say I'm not sure of it's locking abilites Laughing
streetlight98   [Aug 16, 2011 at 03:38 PM]
The second pic looks like the mounting arm is intact, but the fiberglass is cracking. The ballast is probably too heavy for the cheesy DuraGlass
joe_347V   [Aug 16, 2011 at 03:43 PM]
I've noticed it's always the DuraGlass™ that breaks first since the adapter is more durable cast aluminium.

The ones in my pic have 200w+ ballasts which don't help the DuraGlass™ at all.

Joe, RIGHT-ON with the triple linking!
