GE M-250R Ballast Swap
Finally got around to removing the ballast from the damaged GE Crimefighter and installing it into the GE M-250R from Jace. I will need to attach the screw tapping from the damaged shell into the top of the M-250R from Jace, this way I will be able to convert it into a Crimefighter by installing the vertical reflector and lens.

Cool! Too bad they didn't use the same top housings for both versions. Sad The M-250R1 I have has the reflector held in by a screw in the center so a R1 reflector would probably fit into the crimefighter housing but not vice versa. You're very lucky to have a near-complete crimefighter though since they are pretty rare. Very Happy

BTW, the crimefighter's PC socket doesn't look like what GE used back in the day. Neutral Is it a replacement or is it just the pic?

Yeah that would make life a lot easier if they both used the same top housings. That's correct, the PC socket on the crimefighter isn't a GE so it must have been replaced. I do have a GE socket installed on the fixture from Jace.

Yeah, I guess the M-250R crimefighter was introduced later than the M-250R so they had a slightly modified top housing. I wonder if the later crimefighters used the same top housing as their cobrahead counterparts.

What brand is is the PC? I'm looking for another Westinghouse PC socket (for the OV-15 TuDor) and terminal block.

The PC is a Precision. I will have to check around to see if there are still any Westy PC sockets available.

Ah thanks. If you run accross any roadkill Coopers or Westinghouse lights could you save me the terminal block too? Thanks. Smile

Where has Jace been lately? He hasn't been on here, I have seen him around on Facebook. But nice! I seem to be getting back into lights, as my interests spike. But it seems lately it has been all-round. But I need to find a way to get the word out of this site, I want to find more that are into streetlights.

@ Mike: Sure I will keep an eye out. @ Ian: I guess Jace has been busy lately,I've also seen him occasionally on Facebook.

Thanks! Hmm yeah Jace is probably just busy. I personally like how this site is small. I think the LG is just too big for everyone to communicate together but if you really want to make the GoL bigger, you could create an advertisement with google. Not sure how much that costs but I always get all these stupid ads with google and stuff it's probably not insanely pricey.
