I like the slimline the best...

Me too, id love to have a room that's huge and lit with rows of 8ft slimline fixtures Cool maybe put some HO fixtures in over the workbench

heh i'm more of an F40 guy. Razz Very Happy i like the 110W HOs though

I wish we had preheat/(switch start) bi-pin 8foot fixtures like in Europe! Or even a rapid stArt standard wattage 8 ft lamp

That would be cool...I still want to find an 8' slimline like this one though...

Heh I' m more of a 8' HO kinda guy, also has anyone tried firing up a 8' HO on a 100w mercury or 70w MH ballast? with a starter I think the lamp currents are similar. You might over drive the electrodes during preheating though so I would do it on some cheap lamps.

Yeah 8' HO would be even cooler...how 'bout 8' VHO? Laughing

@ aaron; i believe if you pry off the black RCD cover on HO lamps you'll get a bi-pin lamp, but I've never tried it. I may try it on the next HO to go EOL at my grandpa's shop. The reason I like HO over slimline is because HO starts like rapid start while slimline instant starts. IS is boring lol.

But slimline ballasts are cool for EOL shows!
Plus I like the raw simplicity of the 8' slimline pictured here...

the US do make/have have 8ft BI pin PH lamps Shocked and yes a 110W HO will work on a CWA 100W MV ballast in PH

Yeah most modern HO lamps have a cover over the regular bi-pin endcap. I think GE's HO lamps still use a unique RDC endcap though.
