Tapered Elliptical arm mounted outside.
I mounted it low on purpose, this is to show off my lights mounted.

Since there is a hill It's mounted much lower.

How does this look?

I decided to put the model 25 on it, looks so Xcel energy on an IREA pole.

Too heavy, the OV-25 might just collapse this thing like it did once already. I got a stronger screw but don't count on the stronger one being abe to hold more weight. xD
GullWhiz   [Jan 29, 2012 at 11:28 PM]
if you mount the arm properly then the OV-25 will do fine...you need one of those It's a Shakespeare arm by the way
joe_347V   [Jan 29, 2012 at 11:29 PM]
That's easy since you're just showing it, take the ballast out. Razz
LilCinnamon   [Jan 29, 2012 at 11:37 PM]
Yeah I HAVE one of those but it isn't a BOLT, it's something that hangs insulators on, so it has a loop on one side instead of a bolt, but it still is through.

And too lazy. xD I don't wanna mess up the fixture. I might try it once... But the OV-25's are hard to mount since they have different bolts.

OV-25 is not different than mounting a OV-15. I have no trouble mounting my OV-15 on my brackets.
LilCinnamon   [Jan 29, 2012 at 11:44 PM]
I know, but it will be harder with the heaviness of the OV-25. Plus I can't use my normal ratchet, I would have to use a wrench.

You don't have a deep well 9/16 socket?

Try installing a 1K flood out of a bucket, not easy!
GullWhiz   [Jan 29, 2012 at 11:50 PM]
Yeah tools are very important to have.....

I also like to use my Gator Grip

My OV25's slipfitter must've been designed for 2" pipes since it doens't hold onto a yardblaster arm well. It's snug and won't fall, but it only takes a little wigglign of the light to loosen it. The slipfitter doesn't even hold it, the square-headed bolt towards the from does. Neutral Seems like a pretty odd and unflexable way to mount the light too. You can't aim the light up or down- just level.
Antstar85   [Jan 29, 2012 at 11:52 PM]
Majority of the fixtures out there are 9/16 hex heads but the unistyles 175s has a 1/2 hex head.
streetlight98   [Jan 29, 2012 at 11:59 PM]
My OV10 and OV25 use smaller bolts than my M-400 and former yardblaster. I don't know the measurments though. They're all hex-head. My OV25 has one square head bolt in it though. That's the one I use when i mount it since the slipfitter is too large.

Mike, if your OV-25 is a 1st or a 2nd generation, in order to fit into a 1 1/4 inch pipe it requires a special adaptor. It is the same for the OV-14B and I am LOOKING for one for myself....look at your slipfitter...on the top housing do you see two threaded holes? That is where the adaptor gets attached for 1 1/4 inch pipe...
joe_347V   [Jan 30, 2012 at 03:35 AM]
How does the adapter look like, Mike said this came with his OV 25, Although it dosen't really look like an adapter to me.
GullWhiz   [Jan 30, 2012 at 03:38 AM]
I am not exactly sure....but NiMo knows.....he was the one who told me all about this.....
streetlight98   [Jan 30, 2012 at 09:49 PM]
I'm talkiong about my OV25 remote ballast. What Joe linked is what came with it, however, what ever the heck it is, it's WAY to large to even fit in the holt in the housing for the slipfitter. i still have the adapter and I haven't done anythign to it excpet wash it. All it serves me is a weight for the papers i use when i paint lights.
GullWhiz   [Jan 30, 2012 at 10:49 PM]
Can you take a pic of the slipfitter of the OV-25 remote ballast?...the top housing that is...
streetlight98   [Jan 30, 2012 at 10:52 PM]
I believe i already have one, but I'll take a closeup of the slipfitter....
LilCinnamon   [Feb 03, 2012 at 01:32 PM]
How does my Model 25 look on this arm? xD Soon I can run an extension cord to this arm and light the fixtures up on display! I Just have to wait for the snow to end first.. xD

I plan to mount more lights, which lights should I mount? (Other than OV-25)
GullWhiz   [Feb 03, 2012 at 01:44 PM]
everyone already said it looked good......no need to ask that question again...

try ALL your fixtures
Antstar85   [Feb 03, 2012 at 02:01 PM]
Through bolt the arm though before you add heavier fixtures.
