Is this for a fire station?
traffic light1   [Nov 02, 2012 at 11:51 PM]

In CA if there is a traffic signal, it is a standard 3-color as well as the 2 red flashers and gates at RR Xings

Nice! Cool

Yeah these are used for RR crossings, fire stations, and newer crosswalks. Seems to be a RIDOT thing, as i've never seen these signals elsewhere. I'd love to get one of these someday, but lights-to-go.com doesn't make a controll for something like thise to be paired with a ped signal. Sad That pole used to have a yellow RR sign and a 100W HPS M-250R2 on a tapered elliptical arm but the pole was struck by an 18-wheeler and snapped in two!

Are the 12-12-8 signals still incandescent? Last i checked they were! BTW, four of my grandparent's (on my mom's side) live near you! My mom's mom and step dad live on Oakland Ave and my mom's dad and step mom (the ones with the troffers and auto-body shop) live on the other side of Neport Ave. Their street starts at the Getty Station near Central ave on Newport ave.

Hmm, the ones in the pic look LED to me...they don't have that incandescent halo in centre of the lens. Another way to check is to see if the lights fade out when changing since only incandescent lights do that.

Yes they are led. when you slow down time leds fade out as well Very Happy

Actually, I did see LEDs that faded out! They were the pixelated ones so they were for sure LED!!! It was one of these down in the URI area in the South Kingstown area on my way to a camping trip.

Interesting how they didn't repalce the visors though... Both of them disappeared with Irene last year and they were incandescent as of this past August... BTW, in case anyone is wondering, the lights after the 12-12-12 signals are a 250W HPS M-400A2 then a newer M-400 or M-400A, also 250W HPS. This is formerly Blackstone Valley Electric territory, but is now owned by NGrid as well. They bought out the parent companies to BVE (Western Utilities) and Narragansett Electric (New England Electric System or NEES for short).

Mass Electric was NEES owned and the utility for Brockton where David F. is from was Western Utilities owned (so both are also NGrid now).
