1970's model. Terminal block, socket mount, capacitor positionings, and slipfitter bolts are the indicators.

Ah, just like how mine was before I put in the 100-watt MV ballast back in December 2005.

Nice BT-37 cleartop in there. Very Happy

It MIGHT be a Faux Westinghouse lamp.....not old...

Get a camera with a high power zoom and zoom in, you can probably read the etch. Shocked

Looking close at the base of the glass I would venture to say it's an original lamp. See the darkening where the glass meets the base. I don't remember seeing that on newer lamps. Just a guess.

I agree, I don't think there are any modern cleartops out there.
joe_347V   [Apr 30, 2015 at 02:55 AM]
Yeah, my vintage lamps also have that darkening near the base.

There are or at least were faux westinghouse clear tops at one time. I use to have one in 175w. But I highly doubt this is one.

Oh wow that's cool. I noticed that the newer BT-28 lamps look more like mini BT-37 lamps instead of having the squared look.
gmercury2000   [Apr 30, 2015 at 09:34 PM]
Yeah, I bought one just because it was different.
joe_347V   [Apr 30, 2015 at 11:34 PM]
Ahh, the later faux Westinghouse lamps returned to the sqaured off BT-28 shaoe. But they were no longer cleartop. Razz I've never seen a 400w faux Westinghouse cleartop before lol.
streetlight98   [Apr 30, 2015 at 11:55 PM]
Ah they're using the "rel" BT shape again? Nice! It's too bad that BT25s are non-existant. The other BT lamps seem to have at least remained somewhat in production but the BT25s really got killed off for good. Sad

Yep thats an old BT-37 lamp. The faux Westy 400w cleartops from China had smaller crowns compared to this one.
