The B2227 and M-400A are so similar I'm surprized there wasn't any disputes between the companies.

I'm sure you mean B2225 (a B2227 is a R37) Razz

And here's the patent for the B2255, I see the similarities between the two but I guess back then companies weren't so lawsuit happy as they are today. Rolling Eyes

I meant B2225. Embarrassed Laughing GE must have paid Powerlite to use their design.

In my opinion the B2255 looks more like an OVM than GE fixture.

Plus the GE design is WAY different from these.

Not rally. The design is very similar. The B2225 looks like a cross between a OVM and M-400A

You'd have to admit the grey B2255s do look a lot like a M 400A.

Hmm, I've absolutely NEVER seen those lights before. Laughing

Laughing I should have been vague with the city like last time.

Nice finds! What did you do to get those lights?
joe_347V   [Jul 04, 2013 at 03:43 AM]
Thanks those were the lights I got from Niall I mentioned before. Since the pole held a B2255 from 1980, I think the signal was probably a CGE 8-8-8 that got replaced by the Fortran in the 90s
Hanging Light   [Jul 05, 2013 at 02:11 AM]
I wouldn't doubt that there could have been a old 8-8-8 on there. That is an old part of town, and very industrial. and considering the B2255 just makes it more obvious that its an old intersection. Did Niall see them taking it down and ask for the light? Or did he ask for it before it got taken down?
joe_347V   [Jul 05, 2013 at 04:29 AM]
Yeah, I noticed over the past few years they've been slowly replacing the lights and signals there. I think Niall had a contact with the contractor and so knew that they were being taken down. I mentioned I wanted a streetlight a few months before so he'd let me have them since he already had a B2255 and a R47.

Yep, I have a contact at Guild Electric. I was interested in getting both of the lights for myself originally but since I already had these and since Joe mentioned he'd like a light, I figured I'd offer them to him.
