Opened Up B2255s Firing Up For The Night
Here's a pair of Sylvania Powerlite B2255s shown firing up for the night at a local parking lot, one of the fixtures got opened up for reason but they still work at night. Lamp appears to be either a 250w or a 400w HPS.

The opened up fixture was fixed up two months after this was taken but they left the cap dangling out.

Did the Powerlite B2555 come out somewhere around the Time GE Made Powerdoors?...does the Powerlite B2555 have Two Doors for the same Reason as GE Powerdoors?

Some B2255s have the ballast on the door, some don't. I think they came out sometime in the 70s but I'm not sure the year, Darren might know. I hope they fix the door!

I'm not sure about when the B2255 came or why it came with two doors but maybe Vince or Darren might know about this.

The B2255 came out in the early 70's, (72/73) I'm not sure if the design was based on the GE Powr/door,there's a good chance it was, or just for convenience as the ballast can be door mounted as an option.

Kinda rare to see a B2255 opened up, nice find!

They're most likely 400W, but I did have seen a couple of 250W units in the past.

Yeah I don't see these opened up a lot but I have seen a B2255 with the ballast door opened before, they fixed it before I got a pic of it though.
