Nice! Still nice and shiney after all these years. Smile

Thanks! I find the Powerlite mini gumballs tend to keep their shine really well.

I guess it's not cast aluminum? They must have polished them very well. I love the semi-tapered refractor on these lights. I find the traditional round gumballs a little boring but these are cool. I liek the hi-fi needle refractor with 100W MV heads. For incandescent lamps I like radial wave or admiral's hat optics best.

Yeah, I think they're stamped aluminium sorta like the Form 400s. I guess they might have applied some clear coat to the head too lol. Yeah, the tapered reflector gives it quite a bit of character compared to regular gumballs.

St Jacobs has these same exact gumballs but with 100w merc ballasts fitted. They look really nice at night. I believe Toronto had them too but they got killed off in the early 90s by HPS R47s. Razz

Gumballs, teardrops always look great! I love seeing a classic one...repos just dont quite have the same effect.

Yeah same here. Although the Cooper ones look so closely like the real things that I treat them as vintage. Razz

now that's true! the Cooper one's look like they came right from that Era. probably my least favorite repos are the one's that have the glasstop reflectors I guess?

Finally had a chance to see this at night, it turns out this is still incandescent. I'd say 100w as it was fairly dim.

Ahh incandeacent? Yeah in order to put out any useful light that high up it would have to be at least 200 or 300W lol.
