Nice adapter. i'm suprised they still make these since CFLs kinds obselete these. I like these much better though. Less waste and i just love that preheat start up. Cool Both of mine came with Sylvania/GTE 2700K lamps.

I think these should last longer than your average corkscrew too. Razz Too bad they're kinda bulky and heavy to use in most fixtures.

I recently Found three of these in a box by the dumpster and all of mine work (Although only two lamps made the trip home:()
Mine are from December of 1991 and they work great (I love the preheat startup)
Enjoy your new lamps

Yeah these are kinda bulky and heavy for most table lamps and such. I think these were designed as retrofits for recessed can lights and keylkess lampholders and such.

The nice thing with this style of adapter is the lamp is offset and the socket is ratching, so when using a PL-C "quad" lamp, you can fit the whole thing in quite a number of fixtures. Once I figured that out, I started putting these everywhere & getting rid of my spirals. I've found the 13w PL-C to be brighter than some spiral CFLs of 20 watts!

Yes, this is actually a pretty nice adapter and lamp.
