I do believe. It's the mercury that give out the blue light.

I was with the Gull when he took this pic. Very Happy

Very cool, So what did the gull swoop down and peck someone and have to rush them to the hospital ? Laughing . I rarely see LPS any more they used to have a parking lot full of them at Elk Lanes bowling many years ago, since replaced by 250 watt HUBBELL's RLG's
GullWhiz   [Nov 22, 2012 at 02:18 PM]
That blue light is HPS!!!!!!!!

We have similar Police Emergency throughout Southern Polytechnic State University, but they are powered by LEDs and they are really bright Shocked

I'll post a pic when I go to the class on Monday Very Happy

HPS Shocked We have similar lights here too, they use CFL, MH, or incandescent though.

Interesting cause most the ones I see have /DX mercury vapor lamps
FGS   [Nov 22, 2012 at 09:09 PM]
I was talking about the mercury inside some HPS lamps, which is why HPS lamps has the "hg" symbol on the etch. Or did the gull forget that fact? Razz
GullWhiz   [Nov 23, 2012 at 03:10 AM]
I knew that....but I didn't know those lights were HPS until I saw one was cycling...every 2 min or so.....a MH takes longer to cycle...plus this one totally acted like an HPS...

also the newer ones on the campus are LEDs...DEEP BLUEI!!
FGS   [Nov 23, 2012 at 03:45 AM]
And I loved the really deep blue from those! Smile

Well, here is one I have it posted at Commend LED Police Box. This LED light does really pierced in the night!

Looks like 90w = 14,000 L or 135w and 23,000 L, LPS. 180w LPS is 35,000 L.
GullWhiz   [Dec 26, 2012 at 12:42 AM]
nope, they all are 180 watt LPS...but this pic is mainly to talk about the blue light, it has an HPS inside it. Yep imagin using a HPS to make a blue light!
traffic light1   [Dec 26, 2012 at 12:48 AM]
Well looks like 35,000 L is not a lot. Well I was thinking 90w LPS at 14,500/17,000 L, and 35w hps??
