The Lehrolite-McCann Lighting F40 Preheater
Full Size Collage

Thanks again for the nice restoration on this vintage Lehrolite preheater Mike! It's shown here being tested, I temporarily mounted it for the pic next to 1960s F20 shoplight and the 1980s T8 strip. The lamps shown are a CGE Mainlighter and a Westy F40 blackender, both probably from the 70s.

Nice touch with the McCann Lighting PASS sticker and the metal McCann Lighting name plate. I might add a Approved for use in Canada by 347v Electric tag to it once I add the fuse. I ran out of inline fuseholders and need to buy more.

Glad you like it! Very Happy Yeah I really need to fuse my lights but I don't know what kind to buy. Neutral

Yeah you did a very good job restoring that light! I went to Canadian Tire and bought a fuse holder so I fused it tonight.

Here's how it looks:

Since you're still in Canada you can pick up the fuseholders at Canadian in the automotive section and the fuses themselves at either Lowe's or Canadian Tire in the electrical section. I think Radio Shack in your area should also sell them. For a 2 x 40w preheat I recommend using a 250V 1A fast blow 1/4" glass fuse.

Ah thanks. Very Happy So you think 1A is low enough so it'll blow if the ballast malfunctions? They sell the fuseholderss at Radio Shack near me but not the fuses.

Ahh, I wonder if the Lowe's in your area sells them. Cooper Bussmann AGC-1 is what's suitable for a 4' preheater. 1A is usually fine with most 2 x 40w ballasts, I guess since you fuse it so close to what it runs at, it'll blow way before the ballast explodes. If you can't find them at Lowe's, I guess you can always order them off eBay.

nope. Sad If you change the .ca in the url to .com it doesn't show up for some reason. Sad I guess I can order them off ebay.
