My insulator. I dunno if you guys have seen one like this before, but I found this on the ground where they were working on some wires for widening Belleview avenue. xD I got this LOOOOONG ago. xD They put some new M-250 R2's up on the road. Anyway, this was made in the 1970's Vintage insulator. xD Denver uses a lot like this. The wire is held and clamped on by metal and screws, and the insulator keeps it from... Yeah. My insulator.

This is a vice insulator. Here we use tie top ones.

I remember when they were working on Belleview they had a pile of tie top insulators in boxes on the side of the road, but I didn't take any though cause they were new. They also had insulators like this one.

Do you have a photo of these insulators in service? These are not vice tops but are similar. I believe they mount directly to the pole as shown here in the photo.

Yeah they do mount sideways, they were made to do that. I can try to get one... I might have a pic of one on service.. Let me check..

Xcel Energy uses a vast selection of insulators. xD These kind seem to be the most common Though. At least in the city area, Xcel energy in the mountains seems to be totally different. But they use the same cobrahead lights though.
