Since Mike was heading to Ontario we figured we might as well meet and exchange some stuff lol. I'm on the left and Mike (streetlight98) is on the right. I'll be posting some pics later of what I got lol.
Yeah since shipping for both of our stuff would have been killer, we figured it'd be better to do a quick meet up and exchange each others stuff in person.
Hey guys, yeah it was really cool! Joe is the third collector I've met up with. Wow Vaughan Mills is such a huge place. I had my sunglasses on and you can see I was still squinting. Just got my braces off a couple weeks ago too so I guess I'm showing off my pearly whites lol. I have to wear a retainer 24/7 for the next few months though you can't even see it in the pic.
Had a good time even though it was only for a few minutes. Joe got a Lehrolite F40 preheater and a few other things and I got some really cool stuff from Joe too including three FCO glasses for small size cobraheads, a couple small fluorescent fixtures, and others that I will post within a day.
Thanks! Well Canada didn't question the big F40 preheater on mine and my brother's laps lol. He looked right in at us and didn't even acknowledge it lol. I guess since we're just a "regular family on vacation" we didn't raise any red flags lol. I was surprised they didn't search the car. We didn't even need to pop the trunk or anything. Just roll down the windows, take off our glasses (so he could compare us to our passports) and answer a dozen questions or so.
Thanks! I posted a pic of the Lehrolite preheater and I'll post a pic of the other stuff later. And yeah good thing customs didn't hassle you guys about the fixture sitting on your laps.
The two fluorescent fixtures I had for Mike was a NOS F15 Visioneering strip from 1998 and a used Pioneer Lighting F8T5 strip from the early 2000s. Both companies are smaller Canadian fixture makers so those will probably be the only ones of their kind in the US.
That would be cool. Not much to do in RI though lol. There's Mystic Aquarium in Connecticut, some cool things to do in Boston, and that's about it. RI has all sorts of restaurants but no real attractions lol. Well we have the Newport Mansions if you like history and looking at cool old houses. Plus there's lots of mercs in Newport too.
