We still use the traditional dual section style signals for our countdowns, the top section has a hand/man LED and the countdown in the bottom section.

Same hare, though these are used on the fancier painted poles in downtown Providence.

Interesting, we don't use the 16" peds at all here, everything is either single or dual section 12" here. We used to have 9" peds in the days of the old DONT WALK/WALK peds but they're all gone now.

With the exception of the style above, all of the ped signals here are 12" sections.

16 inch countdown is the new spec for pedestrian signals in my area. 12 inch was the old spec, if they are kept in service at all, they get upgraded with Dialight fixtures in the top section, and the bottom is painted over and disconnected. The business districts and select areas here use the fluted poles.

Hmm. Here sinc emost of the signals were halogen, they only had one section to upgrade here. In places where they used incandescent ones, most still remain incandescent, but ones that get replaced still use both sections with an LED hand in one and an LED man in the other versus it being one unit.
