Canned ballast casing without tar! It mounts on the lid side actually, it's just there's no ballast in there.....there's mounting brackets that attaches to the lid and the lid is actually supposed to mount side down to prevent weather from coming in! It's basically weatherproof! It also had some thermal goo inside against the body of the lid and the ballast itself to keep it cooler too... Keywords: Gear

Interesting, I guess the bottom is caulked after the ballast is mounted inside and the top has some sort of heat sink to dissipate the heat.

What brand is the ballast?
