why cant they put two signals on one pole instead of One Signal on Each Pole? Laughing

Well for one reason if one pole gets hit then the other signal will still be standing, I will admit that the MTO does use too many poles some times Wink

Yeah, a lot of intersections in Ontario only have one signal per pole/arm combo.

Signals at Highway Ramp Terminal

Here's a shot of a set of signals at the end of a highway offramp in Mississauga ON, You could also see a control cabinet and a PC mounted on a pole behind the signals. The control cabinet houses a contactor/relay that's controlled by the PC and switches the streetlights at the intersection.
