Los Angeles Department of Water and Power.....using durastars? I thought they were going for LEDs and likes MV?

Now imagine this.......each Wilshire Boulevard poles had TWO DURASTARS! Shocked

Ugh I bet the movie stars will puke if Wilshire has durajunks on the double arms LOL.

No, LADWP doesn't install LEDs yet. There are two seperate street light systems in LA, those on wooden poles are LADWP's and the ones on metal and concrete poles are BSL's (Bureau of Street Lighting, part of the LA Public Works Dept).

in BGE....they pretty much do almost everything....PEPCO in the other story does only wooden poles and the county lights county does that themselves or have other group work for them...while BGE will take over the county lights......the state lights...of course is the state's responsibility all over!

Sargent Electric used to maintain all the streetlights in Pittsburgh but in 2002 they passed on the responsibility over to Duquesne Light and then the city bought out all of Duquesne Light's streetlights in 2007.

SCE maintains all of the streetlights on wooden poles and most on metal/concrete poles. Some cities have their own street lighting systems on metal/concrete poles. Up north, PG&E maintains only a third of the lights in its area.

Over here in York Region, most of the streetlights on the smaller streets are maintained by the local utility, Powerstream. The lights on numbered regional roads look like they're maintained by York Region themselves, and the ones on highways and freeways are maintained by the Ministry of Transport, the MTO.
