I guess now you why they were selling it lol. Shocked
gailgrove   [Feb 23, 2012 at 10:52 PM]
Well it was actually being sold because it didn't have the refractor, the guy didn't even know about this (or that's what he said anyways...) I guess this had happened shortly before it was sold.

What was wrong with this ballast? It looks okay to me. The wiring was chewed but the ballast looks fine...

Nothing but it's unsafe to leave a ballast with chewed insulation in a metal fixture. I'm sure after he fixes the wires, he'll use it. Smile

Yep as far as I know the ballast cap. and ignitor are all fine, though the leads to the ignitor base where chewed up so it's no good. Rolling Eyes When I repair this I'll just get a regular encapsulated ignitor, the ignitor wasn't in the fixture at this time but one did come with the light.

What's the mfg. date of this fixture?
joe_347V   [Feb 24, 2012 at 02:43 AM]
Yeah, the wiring does look too far gone to save. Confused
gailgrove   [Feb 24, 2012 at 07:33 PM]
The light was made August 25th, 2008. Oddly enough the ignitor is two days newer than the fixture...
