My new inandescent pedestiran signal. (lit)
Here it is, it has the little grid-thingy in front of it. What is that grid thingy for? I never got that..

The guy had this in his bucket truck so I got to have it, I have an extra cover thing for this but I dunno how to take the one off of it off.

Not sure where this was in service.. But it IS black.

Ahh thanks for the pic, the 16" clamshell design never made it up here in Ontario although I've seen pictures of them in Vancouver but with the Canadian symbols and in LED. Come to think of it I don't think I've ever seen a incandescent one with Canadian symbols.

Btw the grid is called a egg crate visor and it basically does the same thing as the regular visors. Wink

Clamshell design?

Clamshell is the mounting configuration that can be used for these. Clamshell mounts have built in junction boxes. This ped signal in the pic uses standard pipe mount

I think my other Pedestrian signal has the built in junction box as it mounts directly to the pole without those pipes.

And I found out that the grid-thingy is a louver, so people can only see it in a certain direction.
