The M-400 r2 intersection being re-done.
Remember [url=http://www.galleryoflights.org/mb/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-700]THIS[/url] Picture?

Well this is how it is now. One of the M-400 r2s is missing a door and they are working on the intersection.

I hope I can snag some of these lights.

Those are some massive poles Shocked here we will generally use 6-12 poles at least!
GullWhiz   [Mar 03, 2011 at 03:27 AM]
I've seen longer...at 70 feet in my area!

those poles are Fat. Razz

They finished this intersection. The light on the alone pole on the left got taken down, the rest are there. They reused the M-400 R2's Even the one with the fallen off door, which is odd why they just put a streetlight without the door up on a new pole without replacing it.

Yeah, that's strange, I'd report it!
GullWhiz   [Jun 21, 2011 at 03:52 AM]
Its not their job to replace streetlights, that's why! They focus on replacing poles, that's it! It's the streetlight servicer's responsiblity....I know its kinda waste of time...but its the rules, the policy of some jobs...simply meaning do what you only are there to do, not do other stuff!

Other Traffic signals got new lights though, when they replaced the poles.
gailgrove   [Jun 21, 2011 at 11:35 AM]
Same here, the contractor is responsible for replacing everything at the intersection.

Just added the picture to compare the old picture on this page above!

Ian can you take the finished intersection pic and post?

I'll try today, going to Graybar soon to see what they have.

It looks like you could hang a small freeway sign off of those poles Shocked
Form109   [Jun 21, 2011 at 06:56 PM]
The Poles look just as Wide as These here, but they are definetly taller.
joe_347V   [Jun 21, 2011 at 07:02 PM]
Meh, we don't use fat poles very often Razz
gailgrove   [Jun 21, 2011 at 07:10 PM]
Yeah, the fattest we have are the MTO type poles, of course we also have many more than four poles at an intersection too.

WL contractors does a lot of work around Denver it seems. And is the source of lots of my lights. xD

They do electric and lighting work, and seem to do in lots of places.

Mostly it's the cities that call the contractor to work on parts or intersections, while the Utility, Xcel energy, does their own thing like replace lights or work on utility poles. Too bad Xcel won't let me get some of THEIR old lights.

But I DO Have the hook-up for WL contractors. The nice guy there said that if they ever do a clean out, he would contact me on the phone and I could have anything they had there! But to be careful because of government regulations and all that. They get lots of lights anyway.
