i Also notice the Socket Bracket on one points towards the fixture while the other points away.

ummm Joe....you said left for both of them......plus its OBVIOUS the one on the right is newer....shinier and newer looking parts...
The paint on the 1995 one is still there while the 1974 (actually I believe its a 1973...i will check) paint totally worn away on the top....
