Thanks Matt, I'll have to give them a call.

I see, I'd bet they are doing the lights up there too, it wouldn't make sense for it to be another contractor. Maybe I'll contact the Region of Peel and see what they say.

They took away all of those cobraheads that have been in the grass for a while, they got rid of the grass and equipment free up more space on the side.

I suspect they've been taken to their yard, wherever it is and might still be around. Like I said I'll see if I can contact Stacy Electric and ask.

OT but I wonder if the pile of signals near Dixie and Queensway has been picked up yet.
Model25FanForever   [Aug 25, 2013 at 01:23 AM]
Theres a pile there too?
gailgrove   [Aug 25, 2013 at 01:39 AM]
I think that's been gone for several years.
Model25FanForever   [Aug 25, 2013 at 01:40 AM]
They started that work in 2010 I believe, I don't know when it was finished
joe_347V   [Aug 25, 2013 at 04:46 AM]
Yeah there was a pile of lights near Dixie and Dundas in the median where the powerlines are.

This pile near Newmarket is still there though. Razz

I found 2 crouse-hinds OV-15 and 3 R37's on the ground at Torbram and Steeles last week, they just started the "zum project" at that intersection now. Its the last one that will be finished.
m@   [Oct 14, 2013 at 06:25 PM]
The Zum project at Torbram and Steeles, and Dixie and Steeles actually started with all the other intersections (which are complete now), but for some reason construction on Dixie and Torbram was abandoned for all of summer 2013. Seems they are leisurely resuming now, but hard to tell if it's to finish the work... Confused
Model25FanForever   [Apr 09, 2014 at 03:47 PM]
UPDATE: The crews put up 4 center median round aluminum poles with OVF's up. This intersection is now using OVF's for the rest of the project instead of FCO AE125's
m@   [Apr 09, 2014 at 10:38 PM]
I Nailed it! I saw like 5 concrete pole pads along the steele's avenue portion too!
Model25FanForever   [Apr 09, 2014 at 11:12 PM]
Yeah I noticed that too before they put them up Razz
Looks a bit silly on the south side of Dixie because of the older octagonal steel poles with the R47's right after 2 new OVF aluminum poles
streetlight98   [Apr 10, 2014 at 02:07 AM]
I saw a spot replacement with an OVF here on a RIDOT freeway recently. It replaced a M-400 FCO. Perhaps we're back too OVFs for the freeway lighting here...
m@   [Apr 15, 2014 at 04:47 AM]
@Model 25: at least they didn't change the sequence and install streetside poles
Model25FanForever   [May 12, 2014 at 03:55 PM]
If you go up to Bovaird and Airport road they changed out the cobraheads and put on OVF's on all 4 of the medians. Its OVF'd the same way as the other Zum projects Rolling Eyes except no concrete poles. They are removing the AE 125's from castlemore at bovaird to humberwest parkway with OVF's up to the next intersection on the aluminum poles in the center. And this older R47 got an OVF too
m@   [May 13, 2014 at 12:18 AM]
Yeah, I saw them refixture existing poles at that intersection, but I didn't see any new median poles spring up. I find that cool, making the series of median poles on bovaird continue Cool . What I don't like is it is a sign that the intersections on the west side being done simultaneously are more likely to have 3 median poles planted on one median only on a stretch that is all street side lit.
Model25FanForever   [May 13, 2014 at 01:08 AM]
Yeah they must have been installed sometime since you were last there Cool , I noticed since about 2005 or so median poles really came to a complete stop besides castlemore. Now it seems they are being used more often. At Dixie and Steeles theres 6 stub bases in the medians on steeles.
