A bizarre find from the Fred Meyer clearance section.  Odd in all kinds of ways: 75w but a decorative bulb, rough service but clear, E17 vs. A19, etc.  Anyone know if it was a marketing gimmick or was there an engineering reason for the shape?

I remember seeing these a few years ago. I kinda wish I got one before they stopped selling them.
