Fuse vs. lamp
These miniture lamps are almost the same size as a standard glass fuse, and light up the VU meters of my vintage JVC cassette deck. One was burned out when I found the deck and I finally dug into it to replace the lamps.

BTW, years ago I put an actual fuse across the terminals of a 6v lantern battery and it glowed like a lamp for a good 10 seconds or so before blowing.

My vintage Harman Kardon receiver used the same kind of bulbs to light up the tuning scale. The bulbs are a bit hard to find here though.

I had some old stereos in the 70s that used these. I have a 12 volt tester with a lamp similar to this that has a small Christmas type bulb in a plastic tube with fuse caps.
