Sylvania Powerball self-ballasted PAR38
One of my favourites, I won this on eBay for much less than they normally sell for. I use it in a floor-mounted can light so it uplights a tree. The lamp is a direct placement for a halogen PAR38 as it has an electronic ballast in the base, and the light quality is similar to a 3000K CFL except it has a tighter beam (25 degree). Warm-up is interesting - it changes from white to green to a sickly yellow to its pinkish-white final colour.

Just like the CFL's, I wonder how long a SBMH lamp would last for.
