San Diego Induction
The neighborhoods of San Diego will soon all be lit by these guys.
This one was installed by my house a couple of days ago.
The light output seems to be about 1/3 of the 150w HPS it replaced.

Well, it's certainly not saving money. It's more like just spending more on a lower wattage light with lower LPW.

Induction has always seemed too dim to me, I would (as much as I hate to say it) prefer LED, induction always seems less "crisp" than LED, CMH or any other source.

Why is that low of a wattage in a Medium fixture?

I agree Niall. i've never seen any "green" street lights here yet though. I think HPS is good enough. LEDs have good light quality, it's just that in order for them to save money, lumens are sacrificed. Sad I'd like to see CMH or even PSMH but don't see it happening here.

i like how they kept the external wiring.

It kind of looks like a guy wire arm from a distance.. Or in the thumbnail.

Reminds me of the old school external series wiring.
