This is probably what this fixture the GE M-100 originally had but a bit older lamp instead! They are designed for coated lamps! It seems early 70s my area used more Sylvania's since most of the lamps I got as Westies are either early 60s or late 70s and after while Sylvanias are early 70s and some later 70s and even 80s.....
If you see ET shaped lamps on FCO 100 or 150 watt HPS...then its Sylvania..but if you see ED shaped lamps...its either GE or Philips (not all Philips lamps actually have the green tip) But it could also have other brands...
Mine now uses GEs for all wattages except for 100 watt MH lamps which are Venture branded.
@Jace, yup! This thing certainly had something like this originally, although of course a 60s version. I have a GE Bonusline BT25 that fits nicely with this.
Dave I believe the M-100 here I gave you Dave is from 1963....the ballast and fixture are swapped from frogs M-100 cuz you know how he likes the CWI ballast.....
Thanks all! Last night I ran this again next to a '69 Westy 175w /C, warming up at the same time. The color appearance in both was almost identical from firing up to full brightness. Next, I will take a pic of this with a clear BT25 merc, who wants to see it?
Hey Dave, that's a gorgeous picture you have there, I really like the differences in color between the main bulb section and the crown where uncorrected mercury light escapes. Happy birthday by the way

By the way, does the pic do the light appearance justice?
