How far would they leave this ever fading lumen maintenance on this bulb Surprised

If they can spend 30 bucks on an LED light bulb why can't they spend another five on a replacement glass globe for this light? Confused Rolling Eyes Laughing

It's not like the glass globe for these is hard to find too. Confused
A_lights   [Jul 21, 2013 at 09:18 PM]
a glass globe would probably cause it to overheat and loose lumens anyways, i would leave it off Razz

Eh time to stick a keyless lampholder up there. Razz
A_lights   [Jul 22, 2013 at 03:49 AM]
i would do a 2 lamp F40T12 vaportight and leave it on 24/7 or F32T8 magnetic RS since those are still availabe Very Happy

How many of these LED bulbs were there? I would think they should at least protect the lamp somehow Against theft, vandals and the weather
And also that fixture is meant for indoor use only
If they spent $30 per lamp I guess they don't care if the lamp "Walks" away

It's in a parking garage so it's protected from the weather. I'm not sure how the heat of california will help this lamp. IMO, stick 160W SBMV lamps in them lol. If i could redo the lighting i'd probably use 100W PSMH Lithonia light fixtures as seen here. and wire run them when needed.

Put a plastic globe with holes drilled for ventilation.

Even if it's just a glass shade and open bottom it looks better than just a bare bulb. I like your idea of drilling holes in the plastic globe for ventilation. A series of holes near the neck of the gobe (cool air will sink into the holes and hot air will rise out of the holes) and then one small driphole on the bottom jsut in case water somehow gets in.

The driphole will also allow condensed water to drain out too.
