Ive seen these before with a 100w MV. Maybe this one is supposed to be 100w, but the owner thought a 175 would be brighter, thinking like an incandescent

Odd, it looks like a cross between a cobrahead, a crimefighter and a Powrbracket. Shocked The 175w MV does look a bit big for a refractor too.

cool light! Looks like something spaulding would make but i have nothing to back that up with lol. Looks liek it uses the smaller 9-10" refractor instead of the standard 12". I thought that was a 400W lamp at first but then i saw the PC on top and realized the refractor must be smaller.

I thought it was a 400w lamp in a 175w fixture at first too.

I'd love to find one of these here! I reported a 175WMV 6ft long powr/braket type fixture (i think it was a sylvania fixture since it was 6ft) for being out at the camp i go to in the summer. it's on an unmarked road and the pole doesn't have a number. I gave NGrid a specific description on it's whereabouts but it probably won't get fixed (well, replaced to put it most accuratly) but if it does it should get a 100W HPS M-250R2 with a 6ft upsweep arm of if they decide to downgrade the brightness, a 50W version. The light has been out since before 2009. IIRC, it has a BT28 lamp in it. Maybe it's a 250W MV light which in that case it'll probably still get a 100W HPS replacement but possibly a 250W HPS light but that'd be an overkill for a road in the woods IMO. Laughing the poor thing has moss growing on the refractor and inside the reflector and the photocell looks like it has water damage inside as it's all greened out (it's a 60's looking clear PC). I wonder if the light is off the company's list of if it's even a company light or if it was installed by the camp. even though it's old, the area could use the light at night. It's too bad the fixtures doesn't work since it's a cool fixture and it's MV! this light reminds me a lot of it.
