Exit Sign Retrofit
Here's a inside shot of the exit sign I retrofitted 3 years ago to F6T5 fluorescent. It used to use two 15w T6 incandescents.

The retrofit kit I made is a pretty crude one and I think I might rework it over the summer. Right now the starter socket is dangling inside and the wire colours are wrong. Also the lamp is off centre xP. The ballast is bolted to the sign body and is a PL 5-9 ballast that works pretty well with mini T5 lamps.

Cool! Do you think i could use PL5s in my 9W PL retrofit kit?

Thanks Mike! it depends on the ballast, I know some can overheat if you put PL-5 lamps in it but others are fine with PL-5. You can also try PL-7 lamps if you can find them too.

No it will flash and change lamps.

Mike, you should be able to unwire the second holder or leave it empty to avoid that from happening. If you remove the second holder you could use it with another ballast.
