It will outlive you since I rarely run it..............
GEsoftwhite100watts   [Jul 01, 2013 at 03:25 AM]
In that case it will outlive both of us combined and then some!
joe_347V   [Jul 01, 2013 at 05:09 AM]
And it was used to begin with too. Razz I have a identical one that I found NOS at a hardware store though.

I've seen BT-28 lamps last for at least 20 years or so.
GEsoftwhite100watts   [Jul 01, 2013 at 04:15 PM]
You found another one too? Sweet!
joe_347V   [Jul 01, 2013 at 04:50 PM]
Well, I actually got the NOS one before (in fact it was my 3rd mercury lamp Shocked ) but I've only run it a few times. This one was a Restore find but it's probably only slightly used.

Yeah looks like the arc tube is still pretty clear...
So you bought another merc lamp huh? What size/phosphor?
joe_347V   [Jul 01, 2013 at 05:19 PM]
That would ruin the surprise, you'll have to wait till it arrives. Razz

The BT-25 and BT-28 are similar to each other and the BT-37 and BT-56 are similar to each other. I wonder why there are two different styles though. Neutral
joe_347V   [Jul 09, 2013 at 03:27 AM]
The BT bulb the 700w lamps use are similar to the BT-37 and the BT-56 too. I think fake Westy also used to have a BT-28 that looked like a shrunken BT-37. Razz Oh and I think the BT-15 bulbs used by halogen lamps look more like mini BT-37 bulbs too.

Not sure why they haave different BT styles though.
