Exit Sign and Emergency Light Combo
Here's my LED exit sign and emergency light combo, shown here running on the battery. The exit sign is a 120/347v AC 6V battery LED and the emergency lights are 6V 9w incandescent. Mine is spec'd for 30 min operation...I believe shorter than most dedicated emergency lights though. See spec sheet here.

I have yet to find the instruction sheet for my Globe emergency light.

Nice combo BTW!

Thanks, I tried searching for more info on your Globe light but I couldn't find any, I guess you'll have to contact Globe and see if they have a copy.

Cool my hubbel exit sign uses 7W C7 nightlight lamps. The emergency circut used 6V wedge lamps and it's rated for 90 minutes. I didn't conenct the slip-on wires to charge the battery though so it's technically disconnected in terma of battery back-up.

Thanks! I think this one had 6V wedge lamps too, but they're in the two spotlights, the sign's LED module had a DC tap for the emergency backup.

Ahh. Can the wedges in your heads be changed out are they permanetly sealed?
joe_347V   [Aug 18, 2012 at 01:42 AM]
Yep they can, the lenses pop off and you can pull out the reflector to change the bulb.

I had to remove lots of them. My dads building is full of the plastic crap combos, but they can no longer be in the halls. This exit looks better than the plastic ones and is nice. I like how your sign looks.

You should have used the screw in LED restrofits and when the gov left screwed the old bulbs back in. Keeps everyone happy and the joke's on them. Laughing

Yeah I like this metal one. Still has the oldschool look. The ones in my elementary school that had twin PL lamps had little rectangles cut out near the chevrons instead of having the full chevron in place. I've never seen any other ones like those. So if the exit sign had no chevron KOs removed, you'd see EXIT and one little lighted rectangles on each side of the EXIT face. I wish they were still around. Sad

Yeah, I like the metal ones over the plastic ones too. I'm also a fan of the ones with the brushed stainless steel face.

No we had to remove the LED. and put fluorescent in. If I did not do that the LED exits wold have to be 20ft apart.
