My 2009 General Electric M-400
Got this for $30 on Craigslist. Came from Providence, RI as part of their LED conversion. This is 400W HPS, 120V. The capacitor is bad though since the lamp doesn't warm up all the way, regardless of the lamp being used. Looks great for being 7 years old. Usually the paint starts wearing off and there's corrosion inside but not this one! There's scuffs on top but those are either from removal or storage from before I got it. When I take this apart and scrub it down I'll try to work out those scuffs since the paint itself doesn't appear scratched or chipped. My nickname for this light (and all my 400W lights) is "Big Ba$tard" since that's just what this is: one big light lol.

Nice! I heard GE dosen't actually make the caps in their newer lights. Looks like it's in fairly good shape too.

Nope this is another brand, but the label does say "MADE FOR GENERAL ELECTRIC CO." The last capacitors GE actually made were crappy. The newer non-GE caps are supposed to be better but this one was an exception I guess.

Thanks! This and the OVZ came nice and clean and look great. I cleaned the good M-250R2 and repainted it. The top housing came out good but the paint kept beading up on the door and was really pissing me off. I'll have to sand it down and try again another time. Rolling Eyes The top housing painted fine with no issues, so I'll reassemble it tomorrow. I'm going to try to find a replacement door for the "bad" M-250R2. I'm going to repaint that one as well, but I'm probably going to use silver paint and change it up a bit. Cool

Would be interesting to see a silver M-250R2 since I think GE never offered them in that colour.
