My Cooper/Lumark OVX
This is technically a Lumark RY cobrahead, but it's the same exact fixture as the Cooper/Crouse-Hinds OVX, and that is what I will always refer to this light as.

400W HPS, 120/480V, originally wired for 480V but I rewired both for 120V. Both work great and are NOS.

What does NOS stand for?
streetlight98   [Oct 24, 2015 at 02:37 PM]
New Old Stock, which means it's old but never been used. NIB (New In Box) is used to describe something that's recently made and never been used (and still in the box). NOS usually means it's still in its original packaging but for street lights the term is used to describe it if it's never been installed.

Nice find! Interesting that's it's a 120/480v ballast. Normally I usually see 480v ballasts have a 277v tap instead.

Yeah it's an odd ballast but I'm just glad that it's got a 120V tap. Smile

@ Ryan, if you'd like you can have the second one of this light that I have if/when you come up to visit. Original (but opened) box. Light was thoroughly washed (it needed it!) and tested. No PC socket.

You guys all live so close to each other and I am out away from all you guys. D: I don't know any lighting collectors near me, I knew ONE but then I moved away from him. (Xmaslightguy) Soo....

@Ian
I don't live close to anybody on GoL. I live in Florida. I'm all alone here too.

@ Ian, yeah the New England area and California and the GTA in Ontario seem to have the greatest concentrations of enthusiasts (and Maryland too I guess).

@ Ryan, I will have to find a place to stash the light. I was desperate to get rid of it to make room but I'll hold onto it for you since you have those other lights for me. I just want to let you know, the fixture was stored upside down in a leaky shed, and although I took it apart and scrubbed it with soap and water, there are spots on the door where the paint has flaked off (top housing is nearly perfect) so it's not in perfect shape, but is NOS and in great physical shape. It still has that leaky shed smell to it after being scrubbed with dawn several times but whatever. Will come with instructions sheet too. No PC socket, like the one above. Will post pics of the door if you'd like. You might want to consider repainting the door. If you'd like, I could repaint the door at some point.

Yeah there's a surprising amount of streetlight enthusiasts in the GTA lol.
